As a popular choice among clients who prefer to avoid prescription medications and/or invasive procedures, chiropractic care is not limited to just the neck, back, and shoulders. This safe, hands-on, noninvasive practice is performed by our experienced chiropractors in Florham Park and Berkeley Heights to alleviate problems connected to:
- Knee and other joint pain
- Neuropathy (diseases of the nervous system)
- Pregnancy aches and pains
- Stiffness/decreased range of motion
Chiropractic treatment focuses on the musculoskeletal system and may involve the expertise of not just a chiropractor, but also a physical therapist and/or rehab specialist. At Total Health, we will help you meet your healthcare goals by creating a custom regimen, which may include chiropractic adjustments, electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, deep tissue laser treatment, and/or physical therapy.
TMJ/TMD/Jaw Pain Treatment
Pain or dysfunction of a person’s jaw can be caused by a number of individual problems or a collection of them. Patients will often consult a dentist first, but chiropractors can also play a pivotal role. Chiropractic care offers cranial evaluation and treatment, cervical spine correction as well as jaw alignment and muscle balance.
"Over the course of my 30 years of clinical experience, I have treated hundreds of patients with TMJ. Many times, the correction is made in as few as 3-6 visits. The synergistic approach of treating the whole person and not just “jaw pain/clicking” is the reason for our high success rate in relieving patients’ TMJ pain." - Dr. Dorn, DC at Total Health

Chiropractic Adjustment at Total Health
Chiropractic Care FAQS
Yes. Our chiropractors have years of experience and work with your best interest in mind. Because chiropractic care is a noninvasive spinal manipulation method, it is a safer option than many other pain treatments. There are very few risks with chiropractic care and complications are rare.
It depends on the original injury or source of pain, but most people will feel immediate pain relief after a chiropractic adjustment. However, multiple sessions are recommended to manage pain levels long term.
Some people may experience minor side effects either the day of their adjustment or for a few days following their adjustment. These temporary side effects may include dizziness, headaches, fatigue, or pain in the treated area.
Our chiropractors use their hands to apply pressure and manipulate the spine while placing the patient in different positions. While there may be temporary discomfort depending on the patient, the procedure is not painful to most, and the overall results can make everyday life pain free.
