What is EPAT®?
EPAT® is an advanced non-invasive treatment that uses pressure waves to stimulate metabolism, enhance blood circulation, and accelerate the healing process.
What conditions does EPAT® treat?
EPAT® treats a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including acute and chronic pain, and pain that impairs mobility or quality of life.
What are the expected EPAT® results?
The beneficial effects of EPAT® are often experienced after only 3 treatments. Some patients report immediate pain relief after the treatment, although it can take up to 4 weeks for pain relief to begin. The procedure eliminates pain and restores full mobility, thus improving your quality of life. Over 80% of patients treated report to be pain free and/or have significant pain reduction.
Is EPAT® safe?
Yes. This FDA cleared technology was developed in Europe and is currently used around the globe. The non-invasive treatment has virtually no risks or side effects. A wealth of medical experience, state-of-the-art engineering, and optimal quality have been built into each EPAT® device, and extensive clinical studies and tests have confirmed its safety and efficacy.
How long is an EPAT® treatment?
Treatment sessions take approximately 5-10 minutes depending on the condition being treated. Generally 4-6 treatment sessions are necessary at weekly intervals.
How is the treatment performed?
Coupling gel is applied to the specified treatment area by a Total Health Provider to enhance effectiveness. After these preparations, EPAT® pressure waves are released via the applicator which is moved over the area in a circular motion.
Why should I consider non-invasive EPAT®?
EPAT® has a proven success rate that is equal to or greater than that of traditional treatment methods (including surgery) and without the risks, complications and lengthy recovery time. EPAT® is performed by a Total Health provider right in our Florham Park or Berkeley Heights office and does not require anesthesia, requires a minimal amount of time, patients can immediately bear weight, and return to normal activity within a few days of the procedure.
Can EPAT® help with chronic pain?
Yes, EPAT® is effective in treating chronic pain by promoting the regeneration and healing of damaged tissue, resulting in long-term pain relief.
Is there any downtime after EPAT® treatment?
No, there is no downtime required after EPAT® treatment. Patients can resume their normal activities immediately following the procedure.
What should I expect during my first EPAT® appointment?
During your first appointment, you will discuss your medical history and symptoms with the practitioner. The treatment area will be identified, and the procedure will be explained. The actual treatment is usually quick and comfortable.
Are there any side effects to EPAT®?
EPAT® is generally well-tolerated with minimal side effects. Some patients may experience mild discomfort or bruising at the treatment site, which typically resolves quickly.
How soon can I expect to see results from EPAT®?
